Chairman's Message

 

As American Fidelity Assurance Company (AFA) begins the journey into our next 50 years and beyond, we remain
focused on the heart of our business – our Customer. Providing financial security for our Customers and the importance
we place on them is a tradition ingrained in our practices and beliefs as my grandfather and father set forth so many
years ago.

American Fidelity Corporation stands strong with positive results in 2011. Our flagship business in the Corporation, AFA,
continues to thrive and offer superior financial protection to our Customers. Our solid business practices were confirmed
once again with an “A+” rating from A.M. Best, a testament to our strong leadership and conservative discipline.

Focus on our Customer is what will continue to set us apart from others. We continue to positively balance serving our
Customer with being an Employer of Choice for our Colleagues. In 2011, we were recognized once again by FORTUNE magazine on their list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America, this honor reinforces that we understand the importance of our Colleagues and our Customers.

As the year unfolds, we will build upon our 2011 success with growth strategies in our niche markets, providing
value-added and needs-based products and services. Our sights will remain set on serving our Customers and their
